One of my biggest goals this year was to bring a vital conversation to the forefront menstrual health education and share it with teachers and teenage girls in Ghana. I’m incredibly proud to say: we did it.
Through the support of a small but powerful circle of friends, we came together to fundraise and champion this mission. Our efforts focused on Ashmole International School in Ghana, where we were able to reach both students and teachers with knowledge, dignity, and practical solutions.
Every girl and teacher received eco-friendly, reusable menstrual products
Eco Pads, made locally in Ghana and designed to last up to one year. Not only are they sustainable, but they are also life-changing for those who may otherwise lack consistent access to menstrual products.
The highlight of this project was an empowering online workshop delivered by UK-based Gynaecologist Nurse Marie Kodjo, who shared expert knowledge, broke down stigmas, and opened up a safe space for girls to ask questions and learn more about their bodies.
This initiative wasn’t backed by a big organisation. It was the vision of five committed friends who believed in making a difference—and did just that.
